Movie Updates Program!!

Coming Soon : SKINTRADE

Catching up on news of Tony Jaa, the martial-arts star has recently wrapped up the Thai portion of production on Skin Trade, and he shared a sneak peek at the film on his Facebook page (embedded below).

According to Flicking Myth, the film stars Jaa and Dolph Lundgren along with Peter Weller, Michael Jai White, Ron Perlman and Celina Jade. Lundgren is a New York police detective whose family is killed by a Serbian mobster (Perlman). Following a lead, he ends up in Bangkok and teams up with a Thai cop (Jaa) to put an end to the Serbian mobster's human-trafficking ring.

Lundgren and Jaa had previously teamed up on the Eastern western A Man Will Rise – a movie that seems unlikely to see the light of day, thanks to Jaa's split with studio Sahamongkol Film International.Skin Trade is directed by Beautiful Boxer helmer Ekachai Uekrongtham. He's been busy lately, having just put together a new tourist-oriented stage show, Muay Thai Live: The Legend Lives at Bangkok's Asiatique the Riverfront.

'Pink Panther' Gets Live-Action & Animation Hybrid Without Clouseau

'Pink Panther' Gets Live-Action & Animation Hybrid Without Clouseau

We've already seen MGM revive The Pink Panther in the form of a live-action family comedy franchise starring Steve Martin as the bumbling Inspector Clouseau, but now another revival is in order. No, we're not looking at a reboot of the same character, but rather an alternate version of the title. Those familiar with Inspector Clouseau know that the credits sequences feature an animated pink feline that eventually went on to be featured in his own theatrical animated shorts. It will be that character getting the feature film treatment by way of a hybrid of animation and live-action with a veteran animation director at the helm.
THR has word that David Silverman, a longtime director and producer on "The Simpsons" who also directed the animated family's first feature film. Silverman is also bringing series writer and co-executive producer Michael Price to write the script following the animated pink panther who has also received a cartoon series, comic books and the job of mascot for Owens Corning insulation.
Walter Mirisch, executive producer of the original Pink Panther films and television series is producing the film that will again be an international jewel heist caper. As expected, The Pink Panther will not speak, and while Clouseau will not appear in the film, he will be part of the film's mythology somehow. We're not sure what to expect with a film like this, featuring a character that isn't really a big part of pop culture anymore, but we'll find out eventually. Are you interested?

Nicki Minaj Trades Music for Movies in 'The Other Woman'

Nicki Minaj Trades Music for Movies in'The Other Woman'

She doesn't just dance on the line of propriety — she stomps all over it.
So it should come as no surprise that outrageous rapper (and former "American Idol" judge) Nicki Minaj is giving similarly outrageous advice in her first major, live-action movie, "The Other Woman."
The 31-year-old performer, known for her frenetic, otherworldly rhymes and her seemingly never-ending supply of bright, gravity-defying wigs, plays opinionated assistant Lydia to Cameron Diaz's corporate exec Carly in the comedy about three women scorned by the same man.
Both women are well versed in the ways of men, but Carly (Diaz) draws the line at married men.
When Carly finds out she's been dating a married guy, Lydia doesn't even blink before suggesting she should battle it out with the wife for his hand. "You don't think you can take her?" she asks Carly.
Lydia then makes her case to Carly for infidelity — something Minaj's character is familiar with. "You wrecked two marriages," Carly points out.
"I think married guys would be the perfect fit for you," Lydia tells her blonde, modelesque boss.

While Carly resolutely disagrees, Lydia gets the last, rather immoral, word in. "I'll tell you what my mother said — and these are words to live by: Selfish people live longer."
Minaj, who voiced a wooly mammoth in "Ice Age: Continental Drift," has only appeared in one other live-action film prior to "The Other Woman" — a very little-known 2010 indie drama called "Stuck on Broke." (We're guessing she wouldn't mind if we all forgot about that debut as her novice acting chops are quite noticeable in it.)
